Those vigilant souls at crikey.com have pointed out the curious case of the Australian newspaper editor Chris Mitchell winning "the JN Piecre Award for Media Excellence" for the newspaper's coverage of climate change. So what, you ask? Keep reading, and you discover the award is presented by the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association, who of course wouldn't have any vested interests when it comes to climate change, would they? The Australian is perhaps the last safe haven for climate change deniers in the educated world,so it is little wonder they have earnt a pat on the head from Big Oil.
