Byron Bay Writers' Festival
Tim appeared at this year’s Byron Writer’s Festival on a number of panels, discussing writing on coastal settings and sports writing, and in conversation with surfing legend Rusty Miller.

The panel on coastal writing, along with Robert Drewe and Peter Temple, proved a particularly lively forum. Tim may have earned a dubious distinction as the only writer to use the phrase “crumbed sausage” at a literary festival. Remarkably, it seems they are prepared to have him back. Festival founder Chris Hanley wrote later: “The pleasure was ours. You were great. Your story set up a great session on the Coast and many people told me it was one of their favourites.”
