A new study has found controversial projects such as the Traveston Dam and desalination plants could be put on hold by rolling out rainwater tanks to 5 per cent of households each year in conjunction with other water saving measures. The findings – to be released today by the Australian Conservation Foundation – will increase pressure on the State Government to rethink the controversial 180,000-megalitre dam.
